expected usage:

Feline Calicivirus (FCV) belongs to the family Caliciviridae and the genus Calicivirus in classification. Viruses multiply in the brain, sometimes in crystalline or beaded arrangements. The virus is resistant to lipid solvents (ether, chloroform, and deoxycholate salt); it loses activity at pH 3 and is stable at pH 4-5; it is inactivated at 50°C for 30 minutes. The main manifestations are upper respiratory symptoms, namely depression, serous and mucous rhinorrhea, conjunctivitis, stomatitis, tracheitis, and bronchitis, accompanied by biphasic fever. Feline calicivirus infection is a frequently-occurring disease in cats, with high morbidity and low mortality. This kit is used to detect feline calicivirus antibodies in cat whole blood, serum, or plasma.

Reaction principle:

A rapid immunochromatographic assay for the detection of antibodies to feline calicivirus. After adding the sample obtained from cat whole blood, serum, or plasma to the sample hole, it moves along the chromatographic membrane together with the colloidal gold-labeled FCV antigen. If there is an FCV antibody in the sample, it will combine with the antigen on the detection line (T) to display wine red. No color reaction occurs if no FCV antibody is present in the sample.
Storage conditions and validity period:

Stored at 2-30°C, the validity period is 24 months.
Sample request:

This kit is only suitable for testing cat whole blood, serum, or plasma samples.
Test samples Collect fresh samples and should be tested as soon as possible within 1 hour.
If it cannot be tested in time, whole blood, serum, or plasma samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 3 days, and serum or plasma samples can be stored at -20°C for 1 month.

Detection method:

Collect cat whole blood, serum, or plasma samples. After collection, add the sample to the diluent, tighten the cap, and mix well by inversion.
Tear open the aluminum foil bag of the test card, take out the test card, and place it on a flat, clean table.
Use a pipette to draw 3 drops (about 80 μl) of the diluted sample into the sample hole of the test card, and wait for the test result.
Wait for 10-15 minutes at room temperature to interpret the test results, and the test results after more than 20 minutes are invalid.
Remarks: The above reading time is carried out at a room temperature of 15-30°C. If the temperature is lower than 15°C, the reading time should be extended appropriately; if the temperature is higher than 30°C, the reading time should be shortened appropriately.
Result judgment:

Negative: In the detection window, only a purple band appears in the control line (C).
Positive: within the detection window, purple bands appear on the detection line (T) and the control line (C) at the same time.
Invalid: within the detection window, the control line (C) does not appear in purple-red bands.

Interpretation of test results:

A negative test result simply means that there are no feline calicivirus antibodies in the test sample.
The test result was positive for feline calicivirus antibodies in the surface test sample.
Invalid test results may be caused by a variety of reasons and should be re-tested.

Limitations of the detection method:

This kit can only detect whether there is a feline calicivirus antibody in the tested sample.
The test results of this kit are for clinical reference only, not as a basis for diagnosis.

Precautions:

Please read the instructions carefully before the test. The various reagents provided by this product are only for this test.
Products that have expired or have damaged aluminum foil bags cannot be used.
If the kit is taken out under low-temperature storage, it needs to be opened after returning to room temperature, and the opened test card should be used as soon as possible to avoid moisture, and should not exceed 1 hour.
Avoid touching the chromatography test strips at the sample wells and detection windows on the test card.
The waste after the test should be regarded as a pollutant and should be properly disposed of in accordance with relevant local regulations.
